Well, it’s been a long ride.  One I wouldn’t trade for the world.  No, I’m not dying or retiring.

As most of you know, I’m making a great leap into a new adventure.  The transition has been bittersweet. I poured everything I had for the better part of 15 years into a company I’m truly proud of. To say I’m excited would be an understatement. To say I’m nervous with a tinge of fear, would be more of an understatement.

Yet, in the same way Phillip and I started Lifeblue because we thought there was a better way to build websites. I’m starting this new adventure because I have a calling to help business owners find a better way to operate their business.  To help them achieve the same dreams I had when we first started Lifeblue.  To help build a culture, team, and business that stands for something they can be proud of.

I want to share a quote from Ray Dalio, famous billionaire investor guy, that has been my motivation in deciding to make this transition.

“Imagine that in order to have a great life you have to cross a dangerous jungle.  You can stay safe where you are and have an ordinary life, or you can risk crossing the jungle to have a terrific life.”

I can’t say my life has been ordinary but I can say that I’ve always enjoyed coaching and helping others. A terrific life, to me, is to show up every day and getting to coach others to be the best version of themselves, and subsequently their business.

I’d like to thank everyone, including many receiving this note, for being part of my journey thus far. I have truly learned so much from EVERYONE I’ve crossed paths with over the years. In a sense, I’ll be taking yours and everyone else’s experience, to the business owners I’ll be working with.

So what’s up with 150 conversations? I’ve always been a behind the scenes guy. I’ve always also enjoyed networking and meeting new people. For better or worse, it’s never been at the forefront of my focus and responsibilities. Given my new venture, with emphasis on new, the best path I know to live out my calling, is to meet with people. All the people, so I can discover the person I know I can help.

150 conversations is the goal I’ve set forth to finish the year. My goal with this monthly note is to simply keep folks in the know on my journey. I’ll let you know how it all goes.

With that, I’ll let you get back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Sincerely,

Russel
